The OSHA Construction Industry Outreach Training Program is intended to provide an entry-level construction worker with a general awareness of hazards and how to recognize and prevent those hazards from occurring on a construction site. Training emphasizes hazard identification, avoidance, control, and prevention.  

This online OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety course is provided for your individual use by AdvanceOnline Solutions and is intended to provide instruction on a variety of general construction safety and health standards.  

Note: OSHA recommends Outreach Training Program courses as an orientation to occupational safety and health for workers. Workers must receive additional training, when required by OSHA standards, on the specific hazards of their job.

Once you successfully complete the course and the required course survey, you receive: 
A Certificate of Completion that you can immediately download and print. Per OSHA, the Certificate of Completion may be used to verify training prior to receiving your DOL OSHA Card. 
Your DOL OSHA Card, sent directly to you as quickly as two weeks. NOTE: please ensure your mailing address is accurate to avoid delivery delays. 
Three (3.0) Continuing Education Units (CEU).

If you work in New York City and are looking to meet the requirements for your SST certification, you will need to register for the OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety (Proctored) course or the OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety (Proctored) course. Both of these courses use biometric proctoring to meet the NYC Department of Buildings requirement for proctored courses.

• Identify the elements of the Hazard Communication Standard, identify physical and health hazards of chemicals included on a Hazardous Chemical Inventory, recognize the information required on Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and warning labels, as well as how they are used and maintained, and the meaning of pictograms, under the Globally Harmonized System (GHS), and identify training program requirements

Syllabus

Lesson exams are conducted after the completion of each lesson. Students are required to complete each exam after completing each lesson. This allows students to take the corresponding exam while the information is still fresh.

Each exam consists of 10 questions randomly selected from a large pool of questions. A score of 70% or better is required to pass each exam. Participants are given 3 opportunities to pass the examinations and will receive immediate feedback.

Requirements 

This OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety course (OSHA 29 CFR 1926) provides critical and important training for construction workers, construction supervisors, and any individual that needs to be aware of workplace safety on large and small construction sites. AdvanceOnline Solutions’ easy-to-use online environment affords you the flexibility and convenience to complete the course anytime, anywhere.

Upon successful completion of this OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety course, you’ll receive a Department of Labor (DOL) OSHA 30-Hour Card.  Employers can verify your valid DOL OSHA card by scanning the unique QR code on the back of the card or by contacting AdvanceOnline at 713-952-1100.  

Most employers require completion of the OSHA 10-Hour Construction or OSHA 30-Hour Construction Outreach training to access the jobsite. This DOL OSHA card verifies that you have the required knowledge to satisfy the employer’s safety training program requirements. Our goal at AdvanceOnline is to provide the necessary safety training you need to seek or maintain employment in the construction industry.  Each student will be able to recognize, avoid, reduce, or prevent safety and health hazards while working on a construction site.  

Each student must fulfill the following requirements to earn a Certificate of Completion for the OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety course: 

• Adhere to the Honor Code to complete the training yourself 
• Complete all required course laboratory exercises, you can save your progress as you go 
• Pass all lesson examinations and the final exam with a score of 70% or better. Participants are given 3 opportunities to pass the examinations and will receive immediate feedback. 
• Spend 30+ hours in the training course over a 4-day period. OSHA limits all OSHA Outreach Training (classroom and online) to a maximum of 7.5 hours training per day in all OSHA 30-Hour courses. As a result, all 30-Hour courses must be delivered over a minimum of four days. 
• Complete all training within 6 months (180 days) of the course start date.
• Only access the OSHA Outreach training within U.S. Jurisdiction.
